BROTHERHOOD
The Brotherhood of Beth Havigot would like to invite you to our annual Mothers Day Breakfast on Sunday May 9th at 9:30 am. It is being held outdoors at the Courtyard by Marriott. on Shea Blvd. It is a full breakfast buffet including omelets made to order. The cost is $15.00 pp. The Brotherhood looks forward to sharing a wonderful morning with you. Please contact Bob Slobin.

In 2005, one of our congregants, Dennis Fixman, thought a Brotherhood should become part of Congregation Beth Hagivot and one was established.

The mission of the Brotherhood is to provide a social outlet for male members of the Congregation, and to lead and participate in community service projects.

A partial list includes the following:
• Sorting food for the Community Food Bank.
• Participate in Game Days with residents of a
Fountain Hills Retirement Home.
• An annual Motherˇ¦s Day Breakfast for the
Congregation.
• The Brotherhood prepares and serves an annual
Chanukah Breakfast.
• Attending Spring training baseball games is
a favorite pastime.
• Going to Cracker Jax to play miniature golf and
ride go-karts.
• Get together lunches.
• Outings to the movies.
Anyone interested in more information regarding the Brotherhood, please call Sandy Borken at 480 481-0979 or Jon Geller at 480 837- 0016 or use the Contact Us on this Web Site.
SISTERHOOD
Beth Hagivot held the first Sisterhood meeting in November, 2006. At that meeting, the role of Sisterhood in relation to the Congregation was established and a President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer were elected.

In January 2007, a rummage sale was held and a sizeable contribution was made to the Congregation from the profits. Items remaining after the sale such as clothing was given to a Women’s Shelter in Phoenix, and books were donated to the library.

In April, we established a set of Bylaws.

In November of the same year, we had another rummage sale, which was also successful.

Past and ongoing projects includeDonated:

a set of easels to the Temple

Contributed funds to the Kidney Foundation
Walkathon
Established an annual practice of sponsoring
the "Break the Fast" at Yom Kippur
Collected and mailed supplies to our Military
Troops
As a perpetual fund raising project, a set
of “donation cards” was designed, printed
and are available for sale.
Many more fund raising projects are in the making and the Sisterhood continues to be an active and contributing entity for the Congregation.

Although the Sisterhood is a relatively small organization in membership, its members are a body of dedicated women. Not only do we work diligently, but we have many social events and also we enjoy the camaraderie of each other which forges lasting friendships.
